The EPA signaled that approval of E15 Ethanol Blends will have to wait until mid-2010 pending further testing. This delay furthers the E10 blend wall issues faced by the industry. Meager blend economics are limiting uptake of high level blends in the Midwest and product, in lieu of RINs, must now continue to find its way to the coasts. The higher logistics costs that result from this situation are expected to weigh on ethanol producer margins.
